Today’s passage reminds us:
Jesus is the risen Son of David, seated at God’s right hand, reigning as King and interceding as our eternal Priest.
3. ✝️ Psalm 110:1-7
The LORD enthrones David’s Lord at His right hand until all enemies are subdued. From Zion, He rules with power, and His people freely offer themselves in holiness. The LORD swears that He is a priest forever after Melchizedek’s order. He will judge the nations, defeat kings, and lift up His head in victory.

The LORD says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool” (v. 1).
5. 📝 Reflection
Before meditating on Psalm 110 today, we need to receive by faith two important biblical truths.
First, because Jesus came to this earth as a human being, He is clearly a descendant of David. In His human lineage, Jesus was a Jew from the tribe of Judah. That is why Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, took Mary, who was about to give birth, to Bethlehem, the town associated with the tribe of Judah, for the census registration. And Jesus was born there. When we trace the genealogy of Jesus, we see that He is indeed a descendant of David. Although the throne of David’s dynasty seemed to have ended with the fall of the southern kingdom of Judah, Scripture clearly testifies that Jesus came from David’s line.
Second, Jesus is the Son of God who came to this earth in human flesh. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and that Word is Jesus. Therefore, David, who was Jesus’ ancestor according to human lineage, calls Jesus “my Lord” in Psalm 110:1, today’s QT passage. David confesses as “my Lord” the One who had not yet been born into the world. The Spirit of God must have revealed this word to David, and David must have received it by faith. The people of Israel who sang Psalm 110 would also have confessed this promise by faith.
If we receive these two biblical truths by faith, we can understand why Psalm 110 is one of the most frequently quoted Old Testament passages in the New Testament. According to the covenant God made with David, Jesus came to this earth as the Savior. He died on the cross, but on the third day He rose again. He is still alive today and walks with us. And at the time appointed by God, He will come again to judge the world.
This astonishing truth is one of the central messages running through the entire New Testament. That is why the Gospels, Acts, Paul’s letters, Hebrews, Peter’s letters, and other well-known New Testament books actively quote Psalm 110. Psalm 110 proclaims that Jesus Christ is the King who came as David’s descendant and, at the same time, the Son of God who reigns forever as Lord.
Beloved saints, through Jesus, who is seated at the right hand of God and who is our eternal Priest, all nations of the world will receive the grace of salvation. Do you believe this wonderful message of the gospel? If so, David’s Lord becomes our Lord as well. And in that Lord, we receive salvation. All this grace is ours because Jesus Christ has become our Lord.

Our heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the true Son of David and the Son of God.
Help me to trust that Jesus is already reigning at Your right hand.
Teach me to surrender my fears, plans, ambitions, relationships, and future under His lordship.
May my life be offered freely to Him in holiness, courage, and hope.
Amen.

“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”
2 The LORD sends forth from Zion
your mighty scepter.
Rule in the midst of your enemies!
3 Your people will offer themselves freely
on the day of your power,
in holy garments;
from the womb of the morning,
the dew of your youth will be yours.
4 The LORD has sworn
and will not change his mind,
“You are a priest forever
after the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord is at your right hand;
