June 24, 2026 Today’s passage reminds us: God’s mercy is greater than our preferences, and His compassion reaches even the people we struggle to love. 3. ✝️ Jonah 4:1-11 Jonah is angry that God spared Nineveh and says he would rather die. God asks whether his anger is right. Then God appoints a plant to shade Jonah, but removes it through a worm and scorching wind. When Jonah becomes angry over the plant, God shows him that if Jonah pities a plant, God surely has reason to pity Nineveh, with its many people and animals. 4. π Key Verse But God said to Jonah, “Do you do well to be angry for the plant?” And he said, “Yes, I do well to be angry, angry enough to die.” (v. 9) 5. π Reflection As modern science has developed, anger is no longer viewed simply as an emotional outburst.
