🌍 Why the Risen Jesus Is With You Always | Matthew 28 Devotional (7-Step QT)

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.

Take a deep breath.

Ask God to help you see the risen Jesus clearly and trust His presence in your life today.

2. πŸ“… April 6, 2026

Today’s passage reminds us:

The risen Jesus reigns with all authority, sends us with purpose, and stays with us always.

3. ✝️ Matthew 28:11-20

Although the news of Jesus’ resurrection spread, the chief priests and elders bribed the guards to spread the false story that His disciples stole the body. Meanwhile, the eleven disciples met the risen Jesus in Galilee, worshiped Him, and received His command to make disciples of all nations. Jesus, who has all authority in heaven and on earth, promised to be with His people always, to the end of the age.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (v. 20b).

5. πŸ“ Reflection

The resurrection is truly a marvelous event. It is astonishing enough that a person died and came back to life, but how much more astonishing is it that this happened not for His own benefit, but to fulfill God’s promise to save all humanity? Many have claimed to have risen from the dead, but no one else has had such clear evidence and so many witnesses continually testifying to that truth as Jesus has. Even this alone is amazing, yet the wonder does not end there.

What is even more astonishing is that the risen Jesus is still with us. We do not know when the end of the world will come, but He has promised to be with us always until that day. Even more remarkable is this: although we human beings must eventually die when our lifespan ends, the risen Jesus lives on beyond generations—remaining with us, with our children, and with the generations after them. Just as the God of Abraham became the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, Jesus being with us is more than a declaration that He simply died and rose again; it is the proclamation that He is eternally alive even now.

Beloved saints, the Jesus we believe in is not merely One who died and rose again. He is the One who possesses eternal life and has promised to be with us forever. This is how wonderful the Jesus we believe in truly is. Therefore, do not be afraid. Rejoice and live in peace. Our Lord Jesus Christ is with us.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • What fear or uncertainty do I need to place under Jesus’ authority today?
  • In what area of my life do I need to remember that Jesus is truly with me?
  • How can I live as a faithful witness to Christ in my everyday relationships and responsibilities?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, help me trust that You are truly risen and reigning over every part of my life.

Give me courage to live as Your disciple and to lead others toward You.

Remind me today that You are always with me.

Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– (Matthew 28:11-20, ESV).

11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
