Go and See What God Has Done ✨ | Luke 2 Devotional (7-Step QT)

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.

Take a deep breath.

Ask God to help you see the wonder of Christ’s coming and respond with faith.

2. πŸ“… December 24, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:

God’s promises are real—let’s go and see what He has done.

3. ✝️ Luke 2:8–20

Shepherds were watching their flocks at night when an angel appeared, and the glory of the Lord surrounded them. The angel announced good news: a Savior, Christ the Lord, was born in David’s city. The sign would be a baby wrapped in cloths, lying in a manger. Suddenly, a multitude of angels praised God, saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!” The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem, found Mary, Joseph, and the baby, and shared what they had heard. Everyone marveled, and Mary treasured these things in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had seen and heard.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” (v. 15b)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

In Jesus’ time, being a shepherd meant living at the bottom of society—long days of hard work, sleepless nights guarding sheep from predators, and the constant fear of losing even one lamb. Life was exhausting and uncertain.

Then, in the stillness of night, everything changed. A brilliant light pierced the darkness, and angels announced the greatest news ever: the Savior, Christ the Lord, had been born in Bethlehem. How did the shepherds respond? They didn’t hesitate. Even though Bethlehem wasn’t close and it was the middle of the night, they said, “Let’s go and see what the Lord has told us.”

Friends, what about us? Life feels overwhelming—busy schedules, stress, and fatigue. Yet God is still speaking through His Word. Will you pause and listen? Jesus truly came, just as God promised. He brings peace and joy to those who trust Him. Today, He invites you: “Come and see.” Don’t miss the wonder of His presence.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Where am I hesitating to respond to God’s invitation?
  • How can I make time to “go and see” what God is doing in my life?
  • What step of faith can I take today to draw closer to Jesus?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, thank You for sending Jesus, the Savior we desperately need.

Help me respond like the shepherds—with eagerness and faith.

Even in my busy and weary moments, draw my heart to You.

Let my life glorify You today.

Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14  “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them (Luke 2:8-20, ESV).
