7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to open your eyes to how He’s working beyond what you can see.
2. π November 12, 2025
Today’s passage reminds us:
God is already working ahead of us—even in places we least expect.
3. ✝️ Joshua 2:8-14
Rahab tells the spies that the people of Jericho are terrified—not because of Israel’s army, but because of Israel’s God. She’s heard of the Red Sea miracle and the defeat of the Amorite kings. And she confesses: “The LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath.”
This is stunning. Rahab, a Canaanite woman, recognizes God’s power and sovereignty before Israel even enters the land. God’s reputation has gone ahead of His people.
4. π Key Verse
“For the LORD your God, He is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.” (v. 11b)
5. π Reflection
We often think God only works through what we can see—our plans, our efforts, our prayers. But Rahab’s story shows us that God is already moving, even in places we haven’t reached yet.
Israel had no idea that their reputation had spread, that hearts were already trembling, that someone like Rahab was ready to believe.
In your life, too, God is working behind the scenes. You may feel small, unnoticed, or unsure—but God is preparing hearts, opening doors, and making a way.
So don’t be discouraged by what you don’t see. Trust that God is ahead of you, working in ways you can’t imagine.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where do I need to trust that God is already working ahead of me?
- How can I live with confidence, knowing God’s reputation goes before me?
- Who might be ready to hear about God—if I’m willing to step out in faith?
7. π Prayer
Lord, thank You for going before me.
Help me trust that You’re working even when I can’t see it.
Give me courage to step out in faith, knowing You’ve already made a way.
Amen.
Scriptures
π 8 Before the men lay down, she came up to them on the roof 9 and said to the men, “I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. 10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction. 11 And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the LORD your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath. 12 Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that, as I have dealt kindly with you, you also will deal kindly with my father’s house, and give me a sure sign 13 that you will save alive my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and deliver our lives from death.” 14 And the men said to her, “Our life for yours even to death! If you do not tell this business of ours, then when the LORD gives us the land we will deal kindly and faithfully with you.” (Joshua 2:8-14, ESV).
