  3. ✝️ 2 Timothy 1:1-8

  4. πŸ“– for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control (v. 7).

  5. πŸ“ Paul encourages Timothy to lead boldly, reminding him that fear isn’t from God. As life gets harder, fear grows—but God gives us power, love, and self-control. Fear is a lie that denies God’s presence. Trusting God as our Father is the first step to living with courage and faith.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to replace fear with His power, love, and self-control.

2. πŸ“… November 1, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:
God didn’t give you fear—He gave you power, love, and self-control.

3. ✝️ 2 Timothy 1:1–8

Paul writes to Timothy with deep love, knowing Timothy must lead without him. In verse 7, Paul reminds him—and us—that fear doesn’t come from God. Instead, God gives us a Spirit of power, love, and self-control. That truth changes how we face life’s challenges.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (v. 7)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

As we grow older, fear often grows with us—fear of failure, rejection, or not measuring up. But Paul says fear isn’t from God.

God gives us strength to act, love to care, and wisdom to choose well.

Fear lies. It says, “You’re alone.”
But God says, “I’m with you.”

So today, don’t shrink back. Step forward in faith. You’re not meant to live afraid—you’re meant to live empowered.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • What fear is holding me back right now?
  • How can I live with more power, love, and self-control today?
  • What would change if I truly believed God is with me?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love, and self-control.
Help me reject fear and walk boldly in Your truth.
Fill me with courage to live the life You’ve called me to.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, (2 Tim 1:1-8, ESV).
