  2. πŸ“… October 11, 2025

  3. ✝️ Romans 16:1-16

  4. πŸ“– Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you (v. 16).

  5. πŸ“ Paul faced miracles and hardships—planting churches, raising the dead, yet enduring criticism even from his own congregations. Despite this, he honored and welcomed others, urging believers to do likewise. Ministry is hard; encouragement matters. Today, choose to affirm and warmly receive those serving the gospel with love and gratitude.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to give you a heart that welcomes and encourages others in love.

2. πŸ“… October 11, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:
Gospel community thrives on love, honor, and encouragement.

3. ✝️ Romans 16:1–16

Paul closes his letter with a long list of greetings—naming people who served, sacrificed, and stood with him. He urges believers to “greet one another with a holy kiss,” a cultural sign of deep respect and family-like love. This isn’t just about manners; it’s about creating a community where everyone feels valued.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.” (v. 16)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Paul planted many churches, saw miracles—even raised the dead (Acts 20:9–10). Yet he also faced harsh criticism and betrayal, sometimes from the very churches he founded. Still, notice his heart: he honors co-workers by name and calls the church to welcome them warmly.

Why? Because ministry is hard. Encouragement matters. Gospel work flourishes in a culture of love and honor, not competition or indifference.

Think about your world: social media thrives on comparison, workplaces on performance. But the church? It should be the safest place to belong. Who can you affirm today? Who needs a word of encouragement or a warm welcome?

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Who in my life is serving quietly and needs encouragement?
  • How can I create a “culture of honor” in my community?
  • What practical step can I take to welcome someone new this week?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, teach me to honor and encourage others as Paul did.
Help me create spaces where people feel loved and valued.
Make my words and actions reflect Your welcoming heart.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae, 2 that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

3 Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4 who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well. 5 Greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in Asia. 6 Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners. They are well known to the apostles, and they were in Christ before me. 8 Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my beloved Stachys. 10 Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus. 11 Greet my kinsman Herodion. Greet those in the Lord who belong to the family of Narcissus. 12 Greet those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet the beloved Persis, who has worked hard in the Lord. 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; also his mother, who has been a mother to me as well. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them. 15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you (Rom 16:1-16, ESV).
