Fruitful Vine πŸ‡ or Firewood πŸ”₯πŸͺ΅

  3. ✝️ Ezekiel 15:1-8

  4. πŸ“– Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem (v. 6).

  5. πŸ“ Vine wood has no strength or use apart from its fruit. God values us not for appearance, but for the fruit we bear. A fruitless life is wasted potential. Let’s live as fruitful vines that glorify God and bless others.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you see your life clearly—and to bear fruit that reflects His heart.

2. πŸ“… August 9, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us that our value is not in what we look like—but in what we produce.
God desires fruitfulness, not just form.

3. ✝️ Ezekiel 15:1–8

God compares the people of Jerusalem to a vine.
Unlike strong trees, vine wood is weak and unusable for building.
Its only value is in its fruit.

Without fruit, the vine is only good for firewood.
God calls His people to live lives that bear spiritual fruit.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” (v. 6)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Vines aren’t strong or useful for construction.
Their worth lies in their fruit.
In the same way, our lives aren’t measured by appearance, status, or potential—but by the spiritual fruit we bear.

Jesus said, “By their fruit you will recognize them.”
Are you bearing fruit that blesses others and glorifies God?

πŸ’‘ Application Point:

  • What kind of fruit is your life producing?
  • Is your faith visible in how you love, serve, and grow?
  • Ask God to help you become a vine that bears fruit—not just one that looks good.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Are you living a fruitful life—or just a busy one?
  • What changes can you make to bear fruit that lasts?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

God, I don’t want to live a life that looks good but lacks fruit.
Help me bear fruit that reflects Your love, truth, and grace.
Make me useful in Your kingdom—not just visible.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 And the word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3 Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take a peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4 Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? 5 Behold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything! 6 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7 And I will set my face against them. Though they escape from the fire, the fire shall yet consume them, and you will know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. 8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted faithlessly, declares the Lord GOD.” (Ezek 15:1-8, ESV).
