πŸ€– What AI Can’t Explain: The Holy Spirit Reveals God’s Wisdom | 1 Corinthians 2 Devotional (7-Step QT)

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.

Take a deep breath.

Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart to understand the things of God.

2. πŸ“… May 14, 2026

Today’s passage reminds us:

Spiritual truth is not understood by human wisdom, but revealed by the Holy Spirit.

3. ✝️ 1 Corinthians 2:10-16

God reveals His deep wisdom and gracious gifts to us through the Holy Spirit. The natural person cannot accept or understand the things of the Spirit, but the spiritual person discerns spiritual truths through the words taught by the Spirit. Therefore, believers understand God’s will not by human wisdom but by the Spirit’s revelation, because they have the mind of Christ.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual (v. 13).

5. πŸ“ Reflection

One of the hottest topics of conversation today is undoubtedly AI. This is because AI has begun to be deeply involved in almost every area of our lives. It is not only affecting children’s education but also replacing ordinary office work and even skilled tasks once thought possible only for trained professionals. For this reason, some scholars have warned people by publishing lists of jobs that may disappear because of AI.

I, too, cannot fully predict the changes AI will bring in the future. I do not know whether AI will remain a helpful tool like the internet or whether it will one day replace—or even dominate—the realm of human thinking. However, as someone who studies and teaches the Bible, there is one thing I can say with certainty: AI can never “explain spiritual truths.”

Jesus was a real person who existed in history, so believing in Him may not feel overly difficult for some. However, the Holy Spirit has no visible form, and in Scripture He may seem to be mentioned less frequently than God the Father and Jesus. Because of this, there are many misunderstandings and false beliefs about the Holy Spirit.

That is why Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church, explains the role of the Holy Spirit and what the Spirit does through specific examples. The entire message can be summarized in one sentence: “The gospel is not understood or believed through human wisdom or ability, but only through the revelation and power of the Holy Spirit, who is the wisdom of God.”

Dear brothers and sisters, as we meditate on 1 Corinthians, let us seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit more than ever before. May our Quiet Time become a time when we understand God’s plan of salvation and His grace through the Spirit. I bless you to experience the Holy Spirit as you meditate on 1 Corinthians—the Spirit who reveals “spiritual truths” that nothing in this world, not even AI that claims to change the world, can ever explain.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Am I depending more on information, technology, or human wisdom than on the Holy Spirit?
  • When I read the Bible, am I seeking only knowledge, or am I seeking to know God more deeply?
  • In what area of my life do I need to think, respond, and live with the mind of Christ today?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit.

Teach me not to depend only on human wisdom, technology, or my own understanding.

Open my heart to understand what You have freely given me in Christ.

Help me not only to know about You, but to truly know You.

Give me the mind of Christ so that I may think, speak, and live according to Your wisdom today.

Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– (1 Corinthians 2:10-16, ESV).

10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
