7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time

Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you see His greatness and trust His rule over your life today.
2. π April 23, 2026
Today’s passage reminds us:
The world is not sustained by chance, but by God’s wisdom, power, and rule.
3. ✝️ Psalm 104:1-9
Psalm 104:1-9 praises God as the glorious Creator who is clothed with splendor and majesty and rules over light, the heavens, the clouds, and the wind. He established the foundations of the earth and set boundaries for the waters, ordering creation with power and wisdom. This passage declares that the whole world stands under God’s sovereign rule and sustaining care.
4. π Key Verse
He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved (v. 5).
5. π Reflection
There are people who strongly reject the truth that God created the world. They claim that the world simply came to have its present form by chance, and that no absolute being could possibly have intervened. They argue that everything in nature—the shining sun, moon, and stars in the sky, the mountains and valleys, the rivers and seas, the animals and plants—came into existence, grew, and changed on their own by mere accident.
But Scripture clearly proclaims that all things in the universe were made by God. According to His will, God established order and pattern, and all creation moves and operates within that will. Even microorganisms invisible to our eyes must be understood within the framework of God’s creation.
Which of these two claims do you embrace? Do you believe that God created the world simply because you attend church and believe the Bible? Yes, that is indeed precious faith. But today, I would also like to say that believing God is the Creator does not remain merely within the realm of religious belief.
Creation is not only a matter of faith; it is also a truth that can be deeply considered through human nature and reason. If we believe that the entire universe came to its present state by chance, then we must also conclude that the world we now live in continues to move under accident and uncertainty. In that case, this world would have to be seen as fundamentally unstable. But if we believe that all things were created according to God’s will and continue to move within the order and structure He established, then we can acknowledge that the world is being sustained steadily under His providence. That is why we are able to live with hope for tomorrow and the day after.
So then, what kind of world does our reason more naturally recognize? A world shaken by chance and unpredictability? Or a world preserved in stability under God’s order and rule?
Beloved saints, believe that God not only created the entire universe, but that He is still ruling over it even now. Even those without faith do not naturally prefer uncertainty; human nature and reason long for stability. This is because God created us in His own image. Therefore, today my soul praises the LORD God, for He is truly great.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where in my life do I feel the most uncertainty right now?
- Am I living as though my life is ruled by chance, or by God’s wisdom?
- How can I respond in worship and trust today, knowing that God sustains all things?
7. π Prayer
Lord, thank You for creating the world with wisdom and order.
When my life feels uncertain, help me trust that You are still ruling over all things.
Teach my soul to praise You as the great and faithful Creator.
Amen.
Scriptures
π (Psalm 104:1-9, ESV).
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, 2 covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. 3 He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; 4 he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.
5 He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. 6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. 7 At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. 8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. 9 You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.
