Ask God to remind you today that He sees, He knows, and He never abandons His people.
2. π April 11, 2026
Today’s passage reminds us:
God never overlooks injustice, and He never abandons His people.
3. ✝️ Psalm 94:1-23
The psalmist cries out to the LORD, the God of vengeance, to rise and repay the proud and wicked who oppress His people while claiming that God does not see. Yet the LORD knows the thoughts of man, blesses and teaches those whom He disciplines, gives them rest in troubled days, and will never forsake His people or abandon His heritage. Therefore, even in a world filled with injustice and corrupt rulers, the righteous can take refuge in the LORD as their stronghold, trusting that He will ultimately judge the wicked for their evil.
4. π Key Verse
For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage (v. 14).
5. π Reflection
Among my former coworkers, there was one who was an exceptionally devoted dog lover. He did not regard dogs as mere pets; rather, he cherished and loved them as if they were truly his own children. One day, I saw him unusually angry, smoking one cigarette after another, so I asked what had happened. In a voice full of fury, he told me about someone.
Not long before that, the mother dog he was raising at home had given birth to two puppies. Because he loved dogs so deeply, he wanted to keep both of them himself. However, an acquaintance who had always been very fond of the mother dog repeatedly begged him for several days to give them one of the puppies. My coworker could not make the decision easily and wrestled with it for quite some time. Only after asking again and again whether the person could truly raise the puppy well did he finally, with tears in his eyes, send one of the puppies to that home for adoption.
But about a week later, when he asked how the puppy was doing, he received an unexpected reply. The person said, “I couldn’t handle it, so I gave it to someone else.” The reason was that raising the puppy had turned out to be much harder than expected. Can you imagine how my coworker must have felt when he heard that? He was so furious that his anger rose to the top of his head. Shouting loudly, he demanded to know where the puppy was now. Then, late at night, he went all the way to the house of the person who had received the puppy and finally brought it back home. Even while telling me this story, he could hardly calm his anger. Watching him, I found myself thinking, “If someone truly loves, even something involving a puppy can make that person this angry.”
Beloved saints, in a world where people grow angry even when a beloved puppy is carelessly abandoned, what kind of God is our God? John 3:16 testifies, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” (John 3:16). The phrase “so loved” means that He loved the world enough to give His only Son. God loved this world so deeply that He gave His Son as a sacrifice, paying the price for us who were sinners.
Then can we possibly believe that the God who has been living and active from before the foundation of the world until now would abandon His children? Absolutely not. God rises up for the sake of His chosen children, and He surely repays the enemies who stand against them. Therefore, we can rejoice in God. My earnest prayer is that today also you may enjoy true joy in this God.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where in my life am I feeling frustrated by injustice or unfairness?
- In what area have I been tempted to believe that God does not see or care?
- How can I trust God as my refuge instead of being ruled by anger, fear, or discouragement today?
7. π Prayer
Lord, when life feels unfair and my heart grows tired, help me remember that You see everything and never abandon Your people.
Be my refuge when I feel anxious, discouraged, or overwhelmed.
Teach me to trust Your justice, rest in Your love, and find my strength in You today.
Amen.
Scriptures
π (Psalm 94:1-23, ESV).
1 O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth! 2 Rise up, O judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve! 3 O LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult? 4 They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast. 5 They crush your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage. 6 They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless; 7 and they say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.”
8 Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? 9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? 10 He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge— 11 the LORD—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.
12 Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law, 13 to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; 15 for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? 17 If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. 18 When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. 19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. 20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute? 21 They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge. 23 He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the LORD our God will wipe them out.
