7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to teach you how to trust His Word before you see the outcome.
2. π April 28, 2026
Today’s passage reminds us:
Real faith trusts God before the breakthrough, not only after it.
3. ✝️ Psalm 106:1-12
The psalmist begins by praising the Lord for His goodness and everlasting steadfast love, and he asks to share in the favor, salvation, and joy given to God’s people. He then confesses that both he and the fathers of Israel sinned, remembering how they failed to consider God’s wonders and rebelled at the Red Sea. Yet God saved them for His name’s sake and displayed His mighty power, and only then did they believe His words and sing His praise.
4. π Key Verse
Then they believed his words; they sang his praise (v. 12).
5. π Reflection
When hiring an employee, the very first step is to carefully review the submitted documents. Employers examine not only the contents of essential materials such as resumes, cover letters, and proof of experience, but also whether those documents are genuine. The next step is to interview the candidates who have passed the document screening. During the interview, the interviewer asks questions based on what was written in the documents and tries to discern whether anything has been exaggerated or misrepresented. Once a candidate passes the interview and becomes a serious hiring prospect, the HR team conducts a more thorough reference check. They verify not only the official references submitted by the candidate, but also, when possible, use informal channels to learn about the candidate’s career history and character. After all these steps, the company makes its final hiring decision.
Why do companies carry out the hiring process so carefully? It is because they want to hire someone trustworthy. Of course, it matters whether the candidate has the skills the company needs. But even more important is whether that person can be trusted. That is why companies invest so much time and effort into a careful hiring process. No matter how qualified a person may be for the job, if that person is not trustworthy, he or she can bring serious harm to the whole company. On the other hand, even if someone has certain weaknesses, if that person is trustworthy, he or she can still have a positive impact on the organization. This is a reality we often see in everyday life.
Dear beloved church family, if we invest this much time and effort in hiring a trustworthy employee in the world, how much more should we invest in knowing whether our God is truly trustworthy? Are we neglecting the Word of God while clinging to the clichΓ© that “blessed are those who believe without seeing”? In truth, like the Israelites in verse 12, it is shameful to believe and praise God only after everything has already happened. Therefore, I earnestly bless you to make it the highest priority of your life to believe God’s Word and praise Him today.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Am I trusting God now, or only after I see results?
- What situation in my life makes it hard for me to believe God’s Word?
- Have I been asking for God’s help while neglecting time in Scripture?
- What would it look like for me to praise God today, even before my situation changes?
7. π Prayer
Lord, You are good, and Your steadfast love endures forever.
Forgive me for the times I forget Your faithfulness and wait until after deliverance to trust You.
Teach me to believe Your Word today and to praise You even while I am waiting.
Help me make You my highest priority.
Amen.
Scriptures
π (Psalm 106:1-12, ESV).
1 Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise? 3 Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!
4 Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people; help me when you save them, 5 that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.
6 Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. 7 Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. 8 Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power. 9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert. 10 So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left. 12 Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.
