Stop Limiting Yourself, Trust God’s Strength πŸ’ͺ | Joshua 17 Devotional (7-Step QT)

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.

Take a deep breath.

Ask God to help you see your true identity and potential in Him.

2. πŸ“… December 12, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:

God calls you to live boldly, trusting His strength—not your limitations.

3. ✝️ Joshua 17:14-18

The tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh complained that their land was too small. Joshua challenged them to recognize their strength and God’s blessing: they were numerous and powerful. He urged them to clear the forested hill country and assured them they could drive out the Canaanites—even those with iron chariots.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“You are a numerous people and have great power… For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.” (vv. 17-18)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Ephraim and Manasseh had received generous land, yet they felt it wasn’t enough. Instead of gratitude, they focused on limitations. Joshua reminded them of their potential: they were blessed by God and strong enough to overcome any obstacle—even iron chariots.

How often do we do the same? We look at what we lack instead of what God has given. We forget that His power works through us. Feeling small? Dissatisfied? Remember—you are a child of the Almighty. He saved you, loves you, and calls you to live boldly. Trust Him to do great things through you.

Today, stop measuring your life by scarcity. Start living in the confidence of God’s promises and strength.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Am I focusing on what I lack instead of God’s blessings?
  • How can I step out boldly in faith today?
  • Do I believe God’s power is greater than my limitations?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, thank You for blessing me and calling me to live boldly.

Help me trust Your strength and not my fears.

Use me for Your glory today.

Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 14 Then the people of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given me but one lot and one portion as an inheritance, although I am a numerous people, since all along the LORD has blessed me?” 15 And Joshua said to them, “If you are a numerous people, go up by yourselves to the forest, and there clear ground for yourselves in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.” 16 The people of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us. Yet all the Canaanites who dwell in the plain have chariots of iron, both those in Beth-shean and its villages and those in the Valley of Jezreel.” 17 Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, “You are a numerous people and have great power. You shall not have one allotment only, 18 but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.” (Joshua 17:14-18, ESV).
