7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to give you courage and faith to lead well, even when you feel inadequate.

2. πŸ“… November 10, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:
God calls us to lead with strength and courage because He is with us.

3. ✝️ Joshua 1:10–18

After Moses’ death, Joshua faced the overwhelming task of leading Israel into the Promised Land. God had already told him to be strong and courageous—and now the people echo the same words: “Only be strong and courageous.” This unity of encouragement shows that when God calls you, He also provides support through others. Leadership isn’t about being fearless; it’s about trusting God and stepping forward even when you feel the weight of responsibility.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Only be strong and courageous.” (v. 18b)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Yesterday’s passage showed God encouraging Joshua. Today, the people encourage him too. Seeing God and the community united in saying, “Be strong and courageous,” is deeply moving.

You might be in a similar position—a middle leader in your workplace or ministry. Imagine your boss trusting you and your team supporting you fully. How would that feel? You’d likely lead with confidence and passion.

Joshua faced enormous responsibility after Moses’ death. Fear and doubt were real. Yet Scripture records that both God and the people stood behind him. This is what godly leadership looks like—strength rooted in God’s presence and supported by community.

Dear friends, is the Lord with you? Then be strong and courageous today. That is His word for you.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Where do I feel inadequate or afraid to lead?
  • How can I lean on God’s presence instead of my own strength?
  • Who has God placed around me to encourage me—and how can I encourage others?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, thank You for calling me and for being with me.
Help me lead with strength and courage, not fear.
Surround me with people who encourage me, and make me an encourager too.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 10 And Joshua commanded the officers of the people, 11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.’ ”

12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh Joshua said, 13 “Remember the word that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God is providing you a place of rest and will give you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land that Moses gave you beyond the Jordan, but all the men of valor among you shall pass over armed before your brothers and shall help them, 15 until the LORD gives rest to your brothers as he has to you, and they also take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and shall possess it, the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.”

16 And they answered Joshua, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you. Only may the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moses! 18 Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.” (Josh 1:10-18, ESV).
