π In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God (v. 17).

π The world says, “Promote yourself—even exaggerate.” Paul says, “Boast only in what God has done.” His mission was God’s grace, not personal glory. True success isn’t self-promotion but faithfulness to God’s call. Today, ask: Am I boasting in me—or in Him who works through me?

7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you boast only in Him and live for His mission.
2. π October 9, 2025
Today’s passage reminds us: Boast in what God has done, not in yourself.
3. ✝️ Romans 15:14–21
Paul reflects on his ministry and says something countercultural: he boasts only in what Christ has accomplished through him. His mission wasn’t about personal glory but about making Jesus known where He was not yet named. Paul’s confidence came from God’s grace, not his rΓ©sumΓ©.
4. π Key Verse
“In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.” (v.17)
5. π Reflection
Our culture says, “Build your brand. Highlight your achievements.” Paul says, “If I boast, it’s in what God has done through me.”
This doesn’t mean we ignore hard work—but we recognize the source of every success: God’s grace. Paul’s life was mission-driven, not ego-driven. He lived to make Christ known, not to make himself famous.
Ask yourself: Am I more focused on my platform or God’s purpose? Do I measure success by likes and promotions—or by faithfulness to God’s call? True joy comes when we shift the spotlight from ourselves to Him.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where am I tempted to seek recognition for myself?
- How can I celebrate God’s work instead of my own?
- What step can I take to live more mission-focused this week?
7. π Prayer
Lord, keep me humble.
Help me boast only in what You have done through me.
Make my life about Your mission, not my ambition.
Amen.
Scriptures
π 14 I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another. 15 But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God. 18 For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, 19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ; 20 and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation, 21 but as it is written,
“Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.” (Rom 15:14-21, ESV).
