7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to give you endurance and a heart that seeks unity for His glory.

2. πŸ“… October 8, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us: Live in harmony and glorify God together.

3. ✝️ Romans 15:1–13

Paul calls believers to bear with the weak, not please themselves, and follow Christ’s example of selflessness. Why? So that with one voice we glorify God. Our unity isn’t just for comfort—it’s for worship. Christ welcomed us; now we welcome others, building a community of hope and joy.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (vv.5–6)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Every group has a goal. For the church, it’s clear: glorify God together. But unity doesn’t happen by accident—it takes humility, patience, and love.

Paul reminds us: Christ didn’t live to please Himself. He bore our burdens. If He did that for us, can we not bear with each other’s weaknesses? True community means putting aside pride and preferences for the sake of harmony and worship.

Ask yourself: Am I building unity or creating division? Am I welcoming others as Christ welcomed me? Our goal isn’t just to “get along”—it’s to glorify God with one voice.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • How can I actively build unity in my community?
  • What personal preference do I need to lay down for harmony?
  • Who needs encouragement and hope from me today?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, make me an instrument of unity.
Help me bear with others in love and welcome them as You welcomed me.
May our community glorify You with one voice.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3 For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

8 For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, 9 and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.”

10 And again it is said, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”

11 And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples extol him.”

12 And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Rom 15:1-13, ESV).
