7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Take a moment to slow down.
Breathe deeply.
Invite God into this space—not just to fix your problems, but to reveal His glory through your life.
2. π June 25, 2025
Today is a new opportunity to shift your focus—from self to Savior.
3. ✝️ Psalm 79:1–13
This psalm is a cry from a devastated people. Jerusalem is in ruins. The temple is defiled. God’s people are desperate.
But in their pain, they don’t just ask for help—they ask for God to act for His name’s sake.
4. π Key Verse
“Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and atone for our sins,
for your name’s sake!” (v. 9)
5. π Reflection
We often ask God to help us—for our comfort, our success, our peace.
But this psalm reminds us: God’s ultimate purpose is His glory.
- God saves not just because we’re hurting, but because He is faithful to His name.
- He acts not just for our relief, but to reveal His character to the world.
- Mature faith shifts from “God, help me” to “God, be glorified—even in this.”
π‘ Think about this:
- Are your prayers centered on your needs—or God’s name?
- What would it look like to live today for His glory, not just your goals?
- Can you trust that even your pain can become part of His greater purpose?
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where do you need to shift from self-focus to God-focus?
- How might God be using your current situation to display His faithfulness?
- What would it look like to pray, “God, be glorified in me today”?

Let’s pray for hearts that seek God’s glory above our own comfort.
Even in brokenness, He is working—for His name, and for our good.
Scriptures
π 1 O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins. 2 They have given the bodies of your servants to the birds of the heavens for food, the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the earth. 3 They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there was no one to bury them. 4 We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those around us.
5 How long, O LORD? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire? 6 Pour out your anger on the nations that do not know you, and on the kingdoms that do not call upon your name! 7 For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his habitation.
8 Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low. 9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name’s sake! 10 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!
11 Let the groans of the prisoners come before you; according to your great power, preserve those doomed to die! 12 Return sevenfold into the lap of our neighbors the taunts with which they have taunted you, O Lord! 13 But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise (Ps 79:1-13, ESV).
