- π God doesn’t seek perfection or popularity—He seeks a faithful heart. Like David, we’re called to lead and serve with sincerity and growing skill, even in hidden places. In the quiet, God shapes us. Today, may we be faithful in the small, trusting that He sees, prepares, and leads us forward.

7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Take a moment to slow down. Breathe deeply.
Invite God into this space. He’s not just watching from afar—He’s the Shepherd who sees you, knows you, and is shaping your heart today.
2. π June 24, 2025
Today is a new opportunity to hear from God and respond with faith.
3. ✝️ Psalm 78:56–72
Israel kept rebelling—even after all God had done for them.
But God didn’t give up. He chose a shepherd named David to lead His people—not because David was perfect, but because he had a heart that sought after God.
4. π Key Verse
“He chose David his servant …
With upright heart he shepherded them
and guided them with his skillful hand.” (vv. 70a, 72)
5. π Reflection
This passage reminds us that God values faithfulness over fame, and character over credentials.
- David wasn’t a king when God called him—he was a shepherd.
- He didn’t have a platform, but he had a heart that was teachable and true.
- He didn’t lead perfectly, but he led with integrity and skill.
In a world that often tells us we need to be “more”—more successful, more visible, more impressive—God reminds us that what He’s really looking for is a faithful heart and a willing spirit.
π‘ Think about this:
- Are you being faithful in the “small” things God has given you?
- Are you growing in skill—not to impress others, but to serve well?
- Are you leading (or following) with a heart that reflects God’s?
Whether you’re managing a team, mentoring a friend, or just trying to live with purpose—God sees your heart. And He’s shaping you, just like He shaped David.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- Where in your life do you feel like “just a shepherd”—overlooked or underqualified?
- How might God be using this season to shape your heart and hands?
- What would it look like to lead (or serve) today with integrity and intentionality?

Let’s pray for hearts like David’s—humble, faithful, and ready to serve.
Even when no one else sees, God sees. And He’s preparing you for something greater.
Scriptures
π 56 Yet they tested and rebelled against the Most High God and did not keep his testimonies, 57 but turned away and acted treacherously like their fathers; they twisted like a deceitful bow. 58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places; they moved him to jealousy with their idols. 59 When God heard, he was full of wrath, and he utterly rejected Israel. 60 He forsook his dwelling at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among mankind, 61 and delivered his power to captivity, his glory to the hand of the foe. 62 He gave his people over to the sword and vented his wrath on his heritage. 63 Fire devoured their young men, and their young women had no marriage song. 64 Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentation. 65 Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine. 66 And he put his adversaries to rout; he put them to everlasting shame.
67 He rejected the tent of Joseph; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim, 68 but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loves. 69 He built his sanctuary like the high heavens, like the earth, which he has founded forever. 70 He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; 71 from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance. 72 With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand (Ps 78:56-72, ESV).
