1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you stay rooted in truth and trust Him in uncertain times.
2. π March 19, 2026
Today’s passage reminds us:
God’s justice is real, God’s mercy is sure, and Jesus calls us to stand firm without fear.
3. ✝️ Matthew 24:15-28
Jesus warns that when the abomination of desolation appears, those in Judea must flee without delay because a great tribulation is coming. During that time, false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders to deceive people, so His disciples must not believe them. The coming of the Son of Man will be unmistakable, like lightning from east to west, and for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
4. π Key Verse
“And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short” (v. 22).
5. π Reflection
When we explain in the field of evangelism that God is merciful and does not desire to punish us, most people nod in agreement. Whether they attend church or not, many are already familiar with the expression, “God is love.” However, when we go on to explain that God is also righteous and therefore must judge our sins, people often become uncomfortable, yet at the same time curious. This is because many tend to think of God’s mercy and God’s righteousness as if they were two different sides that do not fully fit together.
To rightly understand God’s love and justice, we must notice that Scripture never presents them as a fifty-fifty balance. God’s justice is rooted in His love, and love without justice is not true love; rather, it can become harmful. Love and justice, therefore, are not separate concepts. Instead, they explain and complete one another as one unified attribute of God. Thus, God is perfect love and at the same time perfect justice.
Verse 22 of today’s passage shows this clearly. The tribulation that comes upon the world in the last days is the result of sin, and therefore it is part of the outworking of God’s justice. Yet at the same time, God reveals His love by shortening those days for the sake of the elect. In this way, love and justice are not divided attributes, but perfectly united in God.
Dear beloved saints, do not misunderstand God as though He were made up of two contradictory sides. God’s justice shows that the final judgment will surely come, and God’s love promises that even in that judgment He will save His chosen people to the very end. Therefore, let us give thanks that the God who loved us enough to give His only Son for us, and who will also shorten the days of tribulation for our sake in the last times, is our Father. And as disciples of Jesus, let us reveal His love and justice in our homes, workplaces, and churches.

Scriptures
π 15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather (Matthew 24:15-28, ESV).
