Simeon Only Knows God’s Salvation π | Luke 2 Devotional (7-Step QT)
7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to open your eyes to see His salvation clearly today.
2. π December 25, 2025
Today’s passage reminds us:
True peace comes from recognizing Jesus as God’s salvation.
3. ✝️ Luke 2:25-35
Simeon, a righteous and devout man in Jerusalem, was waiting for Israel’s consolation, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. He had been promised he would see the Christ before death. Led by the Spirit, he entered the temple, held the infant Jesus, and praised God: “My eyes have seen Your salvation—a light for the Gentiles and glory for Israel.” Simeon blessed Mary and Joseph, warning that Jesus would bring both hope and division, and that Mary would experience deep pain.
4. π Key Verse
For my eyes have seen your salvation (v. 30)
5. π Reflection
Simeon wasn’t famous. We don’t know his background. But we know this: he was faithful, Spirit-led, and waiting for God’s promise. When he saw Jesus, he recognized Him as God’s salvation. Many people saw the same baby that day—but only Simeon truly understood who He was.
This reminds us that spiritual insight isn’t about being in the right place at the right time—it’s about having a heart that listens to God. Today, millions celebrate Christmas, but not everyone sees Jesus as Savior. If you do, it’s because God opened your eyes. That’s grace.
So, how do we respond? Like Simeon—praise God and live with hope. In a world chasing success, relationships, and security, remember: real peace comes from knowing Jesus. He is the light for all nations and the glory of God’s people.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

Lord, open my eyes to see Jesus as Your salvation.
Help me live with peace and hope in Him.
May my life reflect His light to others.
Amen.
Scriptures
π 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; 30 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”
33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” (Luke 2:25-35, ESV).
