  5. πŸ“ Rahab’s lie may seem troubling, but Scripture honors her faith, not her method. God values hearts that fear Him over actions judged by worldly standards. Her courage led to blessing. Today, choose God’s truth over public opinion. Live by His standard, even when it’s misunderstood.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you live by His standards, not the world’s opinions.

2. πŸ“… November 11, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:
Faith sometimes looks foolish to the world—but it honors God.

3. ✝️ Joshua 2:1–7

Rahab hides the Israelite spies and lies to the king’s messengers. From a worldly perspective, she’s a traitor. But Scripture doesn’t condemn her—it honors her. Why? Because her actions were rooted in faith and reverence for God.

This passage challenges us: whose standards are we living by? The world may criticize or misunderstand our choices, but God sees the heart. Rahab feared God more than man, and that faith led her into God’s family.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“But she had brought them up to the roof and hid them with the stalks of flax…” (v. 6)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Rahab’s story is uncomfortable for many—she lies, defies authority, and risks her life. But the Bible doesn’t focus on the lie; it highlights her faith. She chose God over her nation, truth over comfort, and courage over fear.

In today’s world, we often feel pressure to conform, to avoid criticism, to play it safe. But faith sometimes means going against the flow. It means trusting God’s values even when they clash with popular opinion.

So, what guides your decisions—God’s truth or people’s approval? Rahab reminds us: God honors those who honor Him, even when the world doesn’t understand.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Where am I tempted to compromise my faith to avoid criticism?
  • What would it look like to choose God’s standards over the world’s today?
  • How can I live with courage like Rahab, even when it’s uncomfortable?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, help me live by Your truth, not the world’s opinions.
Give me courage to honor You, even when it’s hard.
Like Rahab, may my faith lead me closer to You.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as spies, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lodged there. 2 And it was told to the king of Jericho, “Behold, men of Israel have come here tonight to search out the land.” 3 Then the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who entered your house, for they have come to search out all the land.” 4 But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. And she said, “True, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. 5 And when the gate was about to be closed at dark, the men went out. I do not know where the men went. Pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them.” 6 But she had brought them up to the roof and hid them with the stalks of flax that she had laid in order on the roof. 7 So the men pursued after them on the way to the Jordan as far as the fords. And the gate was shut as soon as the pursuers had gone out. (Josh 2:1-7, ESV).
