  4. πŸ“– Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain, from the LORD who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field (v. 1).

  5. πŸ“ We take spring rain for granted, but Zechariah reminds us to ask God for it. In ancient times, even God’s people turned to idols for provision. Yet only God can truly satisfy. He promises to strengthen those who trust in Him. Let’s stop chasing false sources and seek Him today.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to soften your heart and help you listen to His voice today.

2. πŸ“… October 25, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us:
Only God can truly provide—seek Him, not substitutes.

3. ✝️ Zechariah 10:1–12

God tells His people to ask Him for rain in the springtime—the season when rain is expected. It’s a reminder that even what seems “natural” is under His control. In Zechariah’s time, people turned to idols for provision, even leaders led the way in chasing false sources of help. But God declares: I will send the rain. I will feed My people. They will be strong because they trust in Me.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Ask rain from the LORD
in the season of the spring rain,
from the LORD who makes the storm clouds,
and he will give them showers of rain,
to everyone the vegetation in the field.” (Zechariah 10:1, ESV)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

We often take things like sunrise or spring rain for granted. But Zechariah 10:1 reminds us to ask God—even for what seems automatic. In ancient times, people begged idols for rain, believing they held power. Sadly, even God’s people followed that path, forgetting who truly provides.

Today, we may not bow to statues, but we often rely on money, status, or technology to meet our needs. Yet none of these can bring the “rain” we’re waiting for—peace, purpose, provision. Only God can.

So ask yourself: Who am I trusting to provide for me? What am I turning to instead of God?

Let today be a turning point—where you seek the One who truly satisfies.

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • Am I asking God for what I need, or relying on something else?
  • What “idols” might I be trusting to provide what only God can?
  • How can I live today in full dependence on God’s provision?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

Lord, You are the One who sends the rain.
Forgive me for trusting in things that cannot satisfy.
Help me seek You first and depend on Your provision.
Make me strong as I trust in Your name.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 1 Ask rain from the LORD in the season of the spring rain, from the LORD who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field. 2  For the household gods utter nonsense, and the diviners see lies; they tell false dreams and give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.

3  “My anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders; for the LORD of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them like his majestic steed in battle. 4  From him shall come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler—all of them together. 5  They shall be like mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets; they shall fight because the LORD is with them, and they shall put to shame the riders on horses. 6  “I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the LORD their God and I will answer them. 7  Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall see it and be glad; their hearts shall rejoice in the LORD.

8  “I will whistle for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them, and they shall be as many as they were before. 9  Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and with their children they shall live and return. 10  I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria, and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them. 11  He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart. 12  I will make them strong in the LORD, and they shall walk in his name,” declares the LORD (Zech 10:1-12, ESV).
