  3. ✝️ Ezekiel 18:21-32

  4. πŸ“– Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live (vv. 31-32).

  5. πŸ“ God pleads with His people to turn and live. He takes no joy in judgment but longs for repentance. This choice is personal—repentance is ours to make. Today, hear His voice, respond with a new heart, and return to Him.

7-Step QT Notes

1. πŸ™ Quiet Time

Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you remember His grace—and to live in response to His love, not in rebellion.

2. πŸ“… August 17, 2025

Today’s passage reminds us that God longs for our repentance, not our ruin.
He doesn’t delight in judgment—but in restoration. The choice to live is ours.

3. ✝️ Ezekiel 18:21–32

God speaks with urgency and compassion.
Even the wicked, if they turn from their sins and walk in righteousness, will live.
God takes no pleasure in death. He pleads: “Turn and live!”
This is not automatic.
Repentance is a personal decision.
God offers grace—but we must respond.

4. πŸ“– Key Verse

“Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! … so turn, and live.” (vv. 31–32)

5. πŸ“ Reflection

Can you hear God’s heart breaking for His people?
“Why will you die?”—this is not anger, but love.
God doesn’t force repentance. He invites it.
We often wait for God to change us.
But today’s passage reminds us: we must choose to turn.

πŸ’‘ Application Point:

  • Are you waiting passively for change—or actively choosing repentance?
  • What sins do you need to cast away today?
  • God is ready to restore. Will you respond?

6. πŸ’¬ What does this passage speak to you today?

  • What is God asking you to turn away from?
  • How can you make space for a new heart and spirit today?

7. πŸ™ Prayer

God, thank You for Your mercy and patience.
You don’t delight in judgment—but in my return.
Help me cast away sin and choose life.
Give me a new heart and a new spirit.
Amen.

Scriptures

πŸ“– 21 “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? 24 But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? 26 When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. 27 Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. 28 Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29 Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

30 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live.” (Ezek 18:21-32, ESV).
