God Sees Everything π

- ✝️ Ezekiel 9:1-11
- π Then he said to me, “The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice. For they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see.’ As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds upon their heads.” (vv. 9-10)
- God’s grace saves us through faith in Jesus, though we don’t deserve it. But grace doesn’t cancel justice. God sees and judges sin. As believers, we’re not only recipients of mercy—we’re also called to live out His justice in a broken world, reflecting His holiness in how we live and lead.

7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Pause.
Take a deep breath.
Ask God to help you see the world—and your own heart—through His eyes of justice and mercy.
2. π July 29, 2025
Today’s passage reminds us that God is both merciful and just.
He sees everything—even what we think is hidden.
And He will not ignore injustice.
3. ✝️ Ezekiel 9:1–11
In Ezekiel’s vision, God sends out messengers to bring judgment on Jerusalem.
But first, He marks those who grieve over the city’s sin.
Everyone else faces the consequences of their rebellion.
This is a sobering picture of God’s justice—but also His mercy for those who remain faithful.
4. π Key Verse
“The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice... I will bring their deeds upon their heads.” (vv. 9–10)
5. π Reflection
We love to talk about God’s grace—and we should.
But sometimes we forget: God is also just.
He doesn’t overlook evil.
He doesn’t ignore injustice.
And He won’t let sin go unaddressed forever.
This passage reminds us that God sees everything—even what’s done in secret.
But it also shows that He protects those who remain faithful, those who mourn over sin and long for righteousness.
π‘ Application Point:
- Are there areas in your life where you’ve grown numb to sin?
- Do you grieve over the brokenness in your city, your community, your own heart?
- God calls us to live as people marked by His mercy—but also shaped by His justice.
6. π¬ What does this passage speak to you today?
- What does it mean to be “marked” by God in today’s world?
- How can you live with both compassion and conviction?
- Where is God calling you to stand for what’s right?
7. π Prayer
God, help me not to take Your grace for granted.
Give me a heart that grieves over sin—starting with my own.
Let me be someone who reflects both Your mercy and Your justice in this world.
Mark me as Yours. Amen.
Scriptures
π 1 Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, “Bring near the executioners of the city, each with his destroying weapon in his hand.” 2 And behold, six men came from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with his weapon for slaughter in his hand, and with them was a man clothed in linen, with a writing case at his waist. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar.
3 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub on which it rested to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his waist. 4 And the LORD said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.” 5 And to the others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. 6 Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one on whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the house. 7 Then he said to them, “Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out.” So they went out and struck in the city. 8 And while they were striking, and I was left alone, I fell upon my face, and cried, “Ah, Lord GOD! Will you destroy all the remnant of Israel in the outpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?”
9 Then he said to me, “The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice. For they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see.’ 10 As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds upon their heads.” 11 And behold, the man clothed in linen, with the writing case at his waist, brought back word, saying, “I have done as you commanded me.” (Ezek 9:1-11, ESV).
