7-Step QT Notes
1. π Quiet Time
Take a moment to slow down. Breathe. Invite God into this space. He’s already here, waiting to speak to your heart.
2. π June 14, 2025
Today is a new day. Let’s meet God through His Word.
3. ✝️ Psalm 74:1–11
This psalm is a cry from a broken heart. God’s people are devastated—their temple is destroyed, their enemies are mocking, and worst of all, God seems silent. The psalmist pleads, “God, have you forgotten us? Why are you holding back?”
4. π Key Verse
“Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt.” (v. 2)
5. π Reflection
Have you ever felt like God was distant—like your prayers were bouncing off the ceiling?
That’s exactly where the psalmist is. He’s not just sad—he’s confused. “God, we’re your people. Why aren’t you doing anything?” But here’s the key: he still prays. He still calls out. He still believes God is listening, even in the silence.
Sometimes, God’s silence isn’t rejection—it’s invitation.
He may be waiting for our hearts to return, for repentance, for deeper trust.
And even when we don’t feel Him, He hasn’t let go.
So today, remember:
- It’s okay to bring your raw, honest questions to God.
- God’s silence doesn’t mean He’s absent.
- He remembers His people—and He’s not done with you.

Scriptures
π 1 O God, why do you cast us off forever? Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture? 2 Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt. 3 Direct your steps to the perpetual ruins; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
4 Your foes have roared in the midst of your meeting place; they set up their own signs for signs. 5 They were like those who swing axes in a forest of trees. 6 And all its carved wood they broke down with hatchets and hammers. 7 They set your sanctuary on fire; they profaned the dwelling place of your name, bringing it down to the ground. 8 They said to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”; they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
9 We do not see our signs; there is no longer any prophet, and there is none among us who knows how long. 10 How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever? 11 Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the fold of your garment and destroy them! (Ps 74:1-14, ESV).
